Andrea Moss from Melbourne appreciation post
A tribute to one-season wonder Andrea Moss from Toorak, “the Beverly Hills of Melbourne,” one of the meanest women I have ever seen on housewives. Here are my “favourite” Andrea moments:
“We’re doing a gold theme, but I’m the only one wearing gold.”
“I have about five different nannies who I can use at any time of the day, and each nanny has a checklist.” (Said checklists are extensive, horrifying and must be seen to be believed)
Joking that she keeps her plastic surgeon husband on a weekly budget of $20
About her plastic surgery party: “When everyone arrived we had the machines side by side so that everyone would know, this is medical, these are the machines, have a glass of champagne.”
“Chyka and I are happily married, so we found some of the dinner conversation quite uncomfortable. I don’t even know how to SPELL Viagra.”
Various things Andrea has said to or about her nannies: “If a nanny can’t follow my checklist, they’re out.” “My girlfriends all want my checklists. They all want my advice about how to employ a nanny. I’m the perfect person to write a book about working mums.” “The children must have their vegetables before they have their meat.” “If they kids are asleep, there’s lots to do. Let the dog out every two hours. No dishes in the sink.” “It’s all about freeing my time up.” “When you go to the park, for safety reasons, you take the nanny phone. You have to leave your phone at home in your bag.” “The nanny phone has no internet, it can only be used to make and receive phone calls.” “Your focus has to be on the children all the time. Not on texting your boyfriend because you just had a fight.” (The look on the nanny’s face during this scene is one of pure, unadulterated hatred).
The fact that her kids’ names are “Bud, Kiff and Buster” (Bud is the girl)
“My kids are my world. Are my kids spoiled? Yeah, spoiled with love and affection.”
“You can have it all if you hire a nanny, or a few nannies.”
“I honestly think I’ve worked out the secret to raising great kids.”
“Once upon a time, women would never admit to dying their hair. Now they admit to having botox. Including me!”
“I got up on the dance floor and boogied like I hadn’t boogied in a long time. I definitely had beer goggles on, because I thought I was dancing like Beyoncé.”
Mentioning that her husband is a plastic surgeon every other sentence including referencing it in her tagline
“You know if Gina’s going to do Janet up for the night, she’s going to be quite a bit of orange.”
“Gina’s makeup looks more like war paint, and her hair is far too high, and it’s not my style. I prefer to blend more. I don’t want to look different to every other person.” (When she said this I hilariously thought she was talking about blending makeup and only realized after she meant blending into the crowd).
“It has taken me 12 years to turn my husband into the perfect husband for me, and a perfect father.” Lydia: “That’s really well said, Andrea.” Andrea: “Yeah, you’ve got to work on your man. And I’ve put a lot of work into him.”
Telling Jackie to tell Gina off for “Gina’s own personal benefit”
“I’ve got this saying, that I learn by my mistakes, but I learn by other’s mistakes as well.”
“Would you all ever want to hear some advice from a friend that might be confrontational?” (Kenya energy)
I kind of want to read Andrea’s book about being a working mother 😂 I bet it’s a whole mess
Andrea’s focus group for working moms is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I’ve ever seen on housewives second only to Angela Stone from Auckland’s live book reading. “Someone said I didn’t love my children because I work outside the home, and that made me very angry. So it’s become a bit of a revenge book.” Then she shows everyone her checklists and asks the women in the focus group if they would find them helpful. “A lot of women look at nannies just to care for their children, whereas I make my nannies stay an extra hour every day to clean the kitchen.” Then when the women (understandably) shit on Andrea’s terrible treatment of her nannies and the useless checklists, Andrea says it’s because they (the women) are “just not organized.” “The book really is relevant for all women. It’s not just about hiring a nanny. The resounding message is, just read my book. See how I do it.”
Literally everything this woman says sounds smug. She’s the highest and mightiest.
“What I want to do to repair everyone’s fractured opinions of each other is to have a beautiful day of champagne at my house on the peninsula.”
Her contractor telling her the stonemason’s mother is sick and Andrea callously barking “so get another stonemason!” (Needless to say, she did not ask about the stonemason’s mother’s wellbeing)
“I was really proud to show the girls my holiday house, because I decorated it. I did it all by myself.”
“When Gina arrived, one hour late, she gave me a box of chocolates, but she didn’t give me an apology.”
“I used to be a rock hot tennis player. I have spent hundreds of thousands of hours of my life on a tennis court.” (??. This led my me to Google the average number of hours in a life which is 692,040. Messica from Love is Blind “48 hours in a day” energy).
”When I first saw Gina’s shoes, let’s not call them shoes, they were stilettos, I was thinking, you don’t wear stilettos on my tennis court!”
“It’s just disrespectful. Gina KNOWS that I don’t have a cleaner at the beach house. So who’s going to clean up her makeup?”
“I have these French-embroidered hand towels, and there was brown shit all over it!” (To Gina re: her self tanner. Gina and Barbara K need to meet)
Andrea re: the group attack on Gina: “This was the only way for Gina to hear all our grievances at once.”
Gina: “Were you worried about me falling over and suing you?” Andrea: “‘No, I was worried about you puncturing my $40,000 synthetic...” Gina cuts her off)
“You obviously don’t have a tennis court. I do. I spend a lot of time working to pay off the tennis court. Do you want a tennis court? Do you know expensive synthetic grass is?” - Andrea “everywoman” Moss
Andrea at her book pitch meeting: “I’ve had so many different babysitters and nannies, and it’s all my tips on how do you select the perfect nanny or babysitter.” (shocked that this woman has a high turnover rate)
”I think that women lack organizational skills, to be perfectly honest, and they are not the best at time efficiencies.” Andrea, supporting other women (how was her book not #1 on the NYT bestseller list? She’s so RELATABLE)
“My children are exceptionally fabulous too, they’re amazing, special talents, and things like that.”
“I’ve actually written this book to another mother. She had an opinion of me that I didn’t love my children because I was working full-time. And I’d never spoken to her. But do you like the idea that I’m actually writing this book to this person so they can get a job, and this is how you can have my fabulous life seeing as you’re so interested in it?”
“I’m not the kind of person who needs a publisher to endorse my book just from a one-page synopsis.”
Andrea re: Gina “I feel very sorry for her, because she doesn’t have the foresythe to see what she’s doing” (yes, she said, “foresythe,” not “foresight,” i rewound to confirm. Giannina from Love is Blind Penix energy.)
“No one has ever called me the slang word for female external genitalia.”
While posing for her book cover; “How about this one? I saw Tina Fey doing it.” “The one I like best is the ‘call to action look’” points finger guns at camera and gives Ramona eyes
Bringing a CHECKLIST of her personal grievances against Gina to their meeting 🤦🏻♀️. Kinda bummed Gina cut her off and we didn’t get to hear this insanity in full 😂
To Gina: “I have EVERYTHING, and I’ve worked VERY hard to get it all.”
To Gina: “I heard you’re doing a soap range? Is that so you can wash your mouth out?” (This is before the legendary deck of cards read by Gina)
Enter: the reunion!
Andrea saying that she’s being communicating with trolls online and a lot of them “change their minds once she gives them the facts” 🤦🏻♀️
I like how at the Melbourne reunions we get some previously unseen footage. Like a shot of Andrea reminiscing with her hairdresser about how she scheduled an elective cesarean and booked a blowout with him that same morning
I like how Andrea’s always saying it’s an “effort” for her to show up for filming because she’s too busy to leave Toorak.
Bursting into tears on the reunion couch as she recalls a time when her accounts were in overdraft (shortly after talking, once again, about her five nannies, which she vigorously defends her need to have). The tears magically dried up 30 seconds later.
“Gina is one of the most vulgar people I’ve ever had the misfortune of ever speaking to.” Gina: “You’re an insignificant ass hair. You’re a twit. A moron.” (This is shortly after Gina denies ever using the word moron “I never said that! I don’t use that word!” as production is simultaneously rolling footage of her calling the other women morons. G-d I love Geener).
Lol @ Gina calling Andrea an “absolutely hideous human being”
Andrea final words: “I stood up for my morals, I stood up for my values, I stood up for what I believe in. End of story.”
Three side notes re: Melbourne season 1 rewatch: 1) The blatant racism and cultural appropriation never gets any less shocking. 2) The pooch party was one of my favourite things to ever happen on housewives. 3) And, to end on a happy note, I will never, ever, ever tire of watching Gina totter up to Andrea’s tennis court (two hours late, no less) on her hot pink hooker heels and utterly fuck it up with them as long as I live. “Who wants to watch five bloated women running around a tennis court? I don’t.” - Gina “I deal in fact” Liano. Bonus Gina quote: “ it was the first time I was aware that there was something wrong between Janet and I, but it wasn’t the first time I was aware there was something wrong with Janet.”
American travelers: every country you cannot fly to directly and some possible airline routes you can use to get there
There are several countries you cannot fly to directly from an American airport. Due to how connected America is to the rest of the world, however, many countries you cannot fly to directly are just one connection away. This is my attempt to try and discover some routes you can use to get to certain "unreachable" countries. Please feel free to suggest a different route if you see fit, but do note that I'm going to favor connections that are one-stop, utilize the same airline, and utilize a major airline just to make things simple (there could be an endless number of possibilities otherwise). Also, I'm going to assume that you have an endless supply of cash; I don't want to analyze cost, airline miles benefits, codeshare agreements, etc. since it complicates things too much for the purposes of this post (it's going to be different on an individual level too). I'm also going to assume that you already have a visa and other required materials to visit these countries (if needed). Finally, I acknowledge that with a certain, well, circumstance going on around the world, some of these flights may be suspended for the time being. I try to acknowledge that where it is the case but I can't possibly cover every case. Afghanistan: Dubai and Istanbul will be popular stopover locations for many unreachable destinations in the Middle East thanks to Emirates and Turkish Airlines respectively. Both Dubai and Istanbul have direct flights to Kabul, the largest airport in Afghanistan. Some passengers could also utilize Delhi via Air India and even Kuwait Airways via Kuwait City, though the latter only applies if you live in the New York region. Albania: Europe is generally an easy case as several American airports offer services to London (Heathrow and Gatwick), Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Rome, etc. which each cover Europe quite extensively. In Albania's case, Tirana is no exception to this trend. You can connect at various European hubs using various major European airlines. Algeria: several options exist. Europe offers various connect points to Algiers via major airlines. However, an option also exists to connect in Montreal. I realize that certain circumstances may make it difficult to do now, but this applies under normal circumstances. Montreal offers seasonal services to Algiers via Air Canada, and Air Canada flies from the Quebecois city to several American destinations. If you're feeling more unconventional, Air Algérie also offers direct flights from Montreal to Algiers. Andorra: sadly, as of today, you cannot fly to Andorra. Note that this means no one can fly directly to Andorra as it does not have an airport that services commercial flights within its borders. Angola: a few options exist, though perhaps Air France, KLM, and Lufthansa are the most intuitive options for many American travelers (France, and specifically Paris, will be a very popular connection spot for several unreachable African destinations). You could also connect via Brussels Airlines and even Royal Air Maroc for some American travelers. Other perhaps less efficient options would be Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, and in a few months, Qatar Airways as well. Armenia: when it comes to major airlines, your best bets may be Air France or possibly Qatar Airways although you could also possibly utilize Aeroflot, Austrian, Brussels, or LOT depending on your circumstances. Bahrain: in addition to Emirates and Turkish Airlines, Bahrain is well connected to many European destinations and thus it there are plenty of options (ex. British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa) which you can use to transit into Bahrain. Bangladesh: the most intuitive options are Emirates and Singapore Airlines. It is also possible to connect in London, but you will not be flying the same airline into and out of Heathrow. Only Biman Bangladesh Airlines flies to Dhaka from London. Belarus: the easiest options for most American travelers would be to connect at Frankfurt or Istanbul using Lufthansa or Turkish Airlines. If you're feeling more adventurous, you can also connect in London or Paris and fly Belavia to Minsk. Benin: probably the easiest option is to connect in Paris via Air France. Some American travelers may also have Brussels Airlines or even Royal Air Maroc as options. Bhutan: technically, Bhutan is only one stop away. Options exist to connect directly from Delhi or Singapore and in a few months even Dubai and Tokyo. However, you will not be flying a major airline into Bhutan. Only Bhutan Airlines and Druk Air currently offter services into Paro International Airport. Bosnia and Herzegovina: unfortunately, as of today, a lot of services to Sarajevo are suspended. Options do exist via Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways but those are perhaps not the most efficient. Under normal circumstances, the most intuitive option would probably be a connection in Munich via Lufthansa or a Norwegian connection in a Scandinavian airport. Some American travelers might also have been able to utilize Austrian Airlines. Botswana: the only one-stop possibility to Gaborone is through Johannesburg, and unfortunately, you will not be able to fly the same airline out of Johannesburg as South African has suspended services to the Botswanan capital. You'd have to fly Air Botswana or Airlink. Two-stop options exist via Ethiopian and Qatar Airways, however, those obviously are far less efficient options. Brunei: the most intuitive option for some American travelers would be Singapore Airlines. Options also exist to connect in other popular Asian airports such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo and it's even possible to connect via London and Melbourne. However, you will have to utilize Royal Brunei Airlines on your flight into Bandar Seri Begawan in those cases. Bulgaria: Sofia is well taken care of by several major European airlines such as British Airways and Lufthansa so most American travelers shouldn't find it that hard to find a one-stop flight here. Burkina Faso: perhaps the easiest option would be an Air France or, for some travelers, Brussels Airlines connection. Other options are far less efficient though they do exist (ex. Turkish Airlines). Burundi: the only one-stop options that exist from America are Brussels Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines. ICMYI Bujumbura is no longer the capital of Burundi, it was changed to Gitega recently. Cambodia: several major Asian airlines (ex. Asiana, China Airlines, Korean Air) that service a good number of American airports have direct flights into Phnom Penh and/or Siem Reap from their respective base of operations so it won't be hard to find a flight. Cameroon: one-stop options on Air France, Brussels Airlines, and Royal Air Maroc exist to both Yaoundé and Douala. Other options exist (ex. Ethiopian) but are far less efficient. Central African Republic: the option available to most Americans is Air France, though for some and for those who wish, Royal Air Maroc is also available. Chad: a few options exist, though for maximum efficiency and availability, Air France is the best bet for most. Comoros: at this point, I realized that I completely forgot that Kenya Airways now flies to JFK. So yes, for people in the New York region, you can connect at Nairobi to Moroni. Two-stop options also exist on Ethiopian and Turkish, the latter of which may be more readily available. Cote d'Ivoire: the combination of Air France, Brussels Airlines, and Royal Air Maroc are most American's best bets for one-stop connections into Abidjan. Connecting in Lisbon via TAP is also a possibility. Croatia: as with many other European destinations, several major European airlines service Zagreb so you won't have a huge problem finding a connecting flight. BTW, you may have wondered why I haven't mentioned any regional low-cost European carriers (ex. Ryanair, Wizz Air, etc.) as options. The main reason is that they don't exist in America, so according to the preferences as outlined at the beginning of this section they won't be listed unless there really isn't any other option. Cyprus: this popular destination has no shortage of major European airlines that service it. American travelers from major and even mid-major airports should have no trouble finding a one-stop flight here. Democratic Republic of the Congo: the most intuitive options are again Air France and Brussels Airlines to Kinshasa, the former being more readily available. Other options do exist, though. Djibouti: for most American travelers, Air France or Turkish Airlines are probably their best bets for one-stop connections. It is also possible to connect here via Ethiopian, Kenya Airways, or Qatar Airways, though some of these options aren't as readily available. Equatorial Guinea: the easiest options are probably through Air France, Lufthansa, and possibly Royal Air Maroc. Less-efficient options on Ethiopian and Turkish also exist. Eritrea: the most readily available option would be to connect in Istanbul via Turkish Airlines. Some travelers may be able to utilize EgyptAir or Ethiopian Airlines as well. Estonia: options on Finnair, LOT, Lufthansa, Norwegian, SAS, and Turkish exist, though some options are obviously more available than others. eSwatini: ICYMI this is what Swaziland is now. While a one-stop option exists in Johannesburg, getting there non-stop by itself is not a readily available option to most American travelers. Additionally, you will have to fly Eswatini Airlink into King Mswati III Airport as its the only one that services international flights and this is the only airline currently offering flights from the airport. Gabon: a few options exist, but the most intuitive is probably through Air France. Some travelers could also utilize Royal Air Maroc as well. Gambia: from Europe, you can connect via Brussels Airlines or TAP, and from Africa, Royal Air Maroc. Georgia: this airport is unfortunately not served by British Airways, but you can fly in via Air France (seasonally), Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, or Turkish, to name a few. Guinea: we find once again Air France, Brussels Airlines, and Royal Air Maroc being intuitive options for one-stop connections, this time into Conakry. Additionally, some travelers may be able to utilize TAP. Guinea-Bissau: the only one-stop options you have on the same airline are Royal Air Maroc and TAP. Indonesia: Jakarta is served by several major Asian airlines that are readily available at several American airports, so you shouldn't have a problem finding a one-stop flight here. Additionally, Garuda Indonesia services many Asian airports with direct connections to the US. If you want to fly that airline, the option is very much available for you to do so out of your airport connection. Iran: as of today, basically every major flight out of Tehran has been suspended. Normally, you would've been able to find connecting flights on Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines, to name a few. You could've also flown Iran Air out of several European cities such as London. Iraq: several Middle Eastern airlines such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, and even Royal Jordanian offer connections into Baghdad. Additionally, don't forget about Turkish Airlines (which basically flies to every place in the world). If you must connect in Europe, Iraqi Airways does fly out of some European destinations with direct flights to the US. Kazakhstan: prior to the suspensions, a good number of options existed to Nur-Sultan (NOT Astana anymore!) and to a lesser degree Almaty. Your best bet for the moment is probably through Turkish Airlines or a Middle Eastern carrier such as Etihad or Qatar Airways. Air Astana still operates to some European destinations such as Frankfurt and London though don't expect that to last for very long. Kiribati: thankfully, Fiji Airways has direct flights to some West Coast destinations such as San Francisco and Los Angeles, so Tarawa is just one stop away. Kosovo: virtually all services to Podgorica have been suspended for the time being. However, you can still get in via Turkish Airlines. Another sneakier option exists if you live in New York: Air Serbia offers a one-stop connection option from JFK. Kyrgyzstan: the only one-stop options on the same carrier available are in Moscow via Aeroflot, Isbantul via Turkish, or, if you live in the New York region, Tashkent via Uzbekistan Airways at JFK. Laos: the most readily available option is probably a China Southern connection via Guangzhou. However, if you live in the Bay Area, a China Eastern connection from San Francisco via Kunming also exists. Latvia: from Europe, the most readily available option is probably Lufthansa, though Finnair and LOT also exist if they'e available from your airport. You could also connect in Istanbul via Turkish as well (I just realized that Istanbul Airport is on the European side, sorry guys!). Lebanon: several connecting points from Europe and the Middle East exist so I'm not going to list them all. It shouldn't normally be hard to find a connecting flight here. Lesotho: as with eSwatini, a one-stop connection does exist in Johannesburg but you won't be flying the same airline. Only Airlink flies into and out of Maseru. Liberia: as of today, the most efficient connection options are via Brussels Airlines and Royal Air Maroc. Air France is (supposedly) starting operations there next month, but even if the current situation dies down before then, I'm not sure if that flight will be direct. Libya: currently, there are no connecting options using the same airline into Tripoli. The most intuitive point of connection is through Istanbul, where a few airlines fly into Tripoli. Liechtenstein: currently, no airport in Liechtenstein offers commercial service. Lithuania: essentially all operations out of Vilnius have been suspended. Normally, you would've been able to fly in on various European carriers such as Lufthansa. It is still possible to fly in via Turkish according to Wikipedia, however. And Ryanair does offer a few services out of London. However, these may be Wikipedia typos. Luxembourg: British Airways, KLM, and TAP are all intuitive options you can use to fly in. Less efficient options include Alitalia, Lufthansa, and LOT. Madagascar: the one-stop options available to Americans (at varying levels of availability) are via Air France, Ethiopian, Kenya Airways, or Turkish. Malawi: one-stop one-airline options include Ethiopian, Kenya Airways, and South African. Malaysia: I am NOT counting Singapore as Malaysia because, well, it's not Malaysia. However, a ton of options via Asia and even Europe and Africa exist as Kuala Lumpur is a major Asian airport. You'll find a ton of options from airlines such as Air China, ANA, Emirates, Etihad, and Singapore Airlines just to name a few. Maldives: some European carriers such as British Airways and Lufthansa serve Malé seasonally, but for year-round service, look to carriers such as Etihad and Qatar Airways. Mali: for maximum efficiency, Air France and Royal Air Maroc are probably the best one-stop options for American travelers. Malta: all services to Malta will be suspended soon. Normally, most of the major European airlines would offer flights into this popular tourist destination, though some such as Swiss would have only done so seasonally. Mauritania: as with many West African nations, Air France and Royal Air Maroc are probably the best options available. Mauritius: many European, Middle Eastern, and African airlines offer one-stop connections from the US to this amazing island including British Airways, Emirates, and South African. Moldova: Aeroflot, Austrian, LOT, Lufthansa, Turkish, and Ukraine International all offer one-stop flights from the US to Chisinau at varying levels of availability. Monaco: Monaco does not have an airport that provides commercial service. Mongolia: in addition to the popular Turkish Airlines, Asian airlines such as Air China, Asiana, and Korean Air offer one-stop services from certain American locales, as well as Aeroflot. If you're feeling especially adventurous, it is possible to connect in Berlin and sometimes Frankfurt, but you'll have to fly MIAT out of those airports to Ulaanbaatar. Montenegro: many airlines have suspended their services to Podgorica. Normally, you could've utilized Alitalia or Austrian among the major European carriers, and in a few months (given the situation dies down before then), British Airways will also offer service. It is, however, still possible to fly in via Istanbul via Turkish. Mozambique: TAP is the only major European airline that offers one-stop service to Maputo from the US. Depending on your location, other carrier options for one-stop service include Ethiopian, Kenya Airways, Qatar Airways, and South African. Myanmar: you would have to utilize a major Asian airline such as Air China, Air India, Korean Air, or Singapore Airlines to provide one-stop service from the US as even Turkish Airlines doesn't fly to Yangon. Namibia: lots of flights have been suspended to Windhoek. Normally, Condor and Qatar Airways would've been potential options. As of today, the only possible option it seems is South African, and even that only services a few American airports. Nauru: the only airline servicing this airport is Nauru Airlines, so you will not be able to fly the same airline into and out of your connect point. You also have to be flying out of an airport that services either Brisbane or Nadi to do so (unless you live in Hawaii, in which case, you could also connect in Majuro). Nepal: some carriers have suspended some or all flights to Nepal for various reasons. Normally, there would be a plethora of Asian airlines to offer flights into Kathmandu. Etihad, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines are a few options apparently still available to Americans for one-stop travel purposes. Niger: our West African friends Air France and Royal Air Maroc once again make for the most intuitive and efficient one-stop options. North Korea: admittedly, I'm not sure what extra restrictions are imposed upon flyers into North Korea. All I know is that Air China does offer a flight into Pyongyang as well as to several US-based airports. However, it may be one of those flights that you need extra clearance to get into. Air Koryo also flies out of Beijing and Shanghai, each of which are well-connected to the US. The stories of that airline...are fascinating. I suggest you check them out. North Macedonia: ICYMI Macedonia had to add "North" in front of their name due to a conflict with Greece. The borders of this nation are closing soon meaning air travel will be suspended for the time being. Normally, you would be able to utilize a few European carriers such as Austrian as well as Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways for connections. Oman: you can utilize one of many European, Asian, and even African carriers as one-stop flight options into Muscat. Pakistan: airlines such as Air China, Emirates, and Turkish Airlines all offer one-stop options from the United States. If you must connect in Europe, look into a British Airways flight from London to Islamabad as your second leg. You're limited to PIA if you must fly to Karachi or Lahore and must use Europe as a connect point. Papua New Guinea: if your airport has Philippine Airlines, Qantas, or Virgin Australia, then you don't have to worry about more than one stopover or changing airlines. Of course, if you're willing to fly Air Niugini on your second leg, more options do become available. Paraguay: the most intuitive option is probably a connection in Bogotá via Avianca or in Panama City via Copa Airlines, both of which service quite a few major American airports. You could also try Aerolíneas Argentinas or LATAM if you wish, but I think those connections may be far less efficient in terms of airborne time. Republic of the Congo: Air France and Royal Air Maroc once again. Just in case you're surprised why Air France services so many African nations, remember that many African nations speak French and that France maintained a strong colonial presence in Africa at one point. Romania: there are plenty of options to choose from among airline carriers, most from Europe. I do want to take this time to mention a new carrier: El Al. You could also utilize that to fly into Bucharest from Tel Aviv if you really feel like it. Rwanda: Brussels Airlines, KLM, and Turkish Airlines are your only options if you must connect in Europe. EgyptAir, Ethiopian, and Qatar Airways are your other options. San Marino: no commercial airport located here. Sorry! São Tomé and Príncipe: your only option would be TAP from Lisbon. Even then, I'm not sure if it's one stop. Seychelles: if you must connect in Europe, then you have Air France, British Airways, Condor, and Turkish Airlines open to you. Otherwise, feel free to check out options on Emirates, Ethiopian, Etihad, Kenya Airways, or Qatar Airways. Sierra Leone: the only one I'm close to certain of that offers a one-stop service is Royal Air Maroc. Wikipedia also says Air France and Brussels Airlines fly in from their respective airports, but I'm not sure if there's a hidden connection somewhere. Slovakia: all flights are currently suspended due to the current situation. Normally, options would've existed on Austrian and LOT to fly, not into Bratislava, but Košice. Unfortunately, it looks like you'd be stuck flying a low-cost airline into Bratislava, meaning you wouldn't be able to stick to the same airline on both legs. That being said, several European cities to serve Bratislava, so you're only one stop away. Slovenia: all flights have basically been suspended. Normally, you'd have a nice selection of airlines to choose from including British Airways, Iberia, and Lufthansa. Solomon Islands: the most intuitive option would probably be a Fiji Airways connection at Nadi but unfortunately that airline doesn't service most American airports. Los Angeles travelers have the additional option of a Virgin Australia connection in Brisbane. Somalia: you have three options: Air France, Royal Air Maroc, or Turkish Airlines as single-connection flights, although I'm not so certain about Air France. South Sudan: there's not a large selection to choose from, but check out the one-stop options available on EgyptAir, Ethiopian, or Kenya Airways (availability pending on your location). Sri Lanka: this busy airport is serviced by virtually all major Asian carriers that also service the US, so there's no shortage of one-stop options available. Turkish Airlines also makes another appearance, surprise surprise? If you must connect in London, your only option to get to Colombo is SriLankan Airlines meaning you'll have to switch carriers. Sudan: airport service is currently suspended here. Normally, you'd have plenty of African and Middle Eastern options to choose from for one-stop services to Khartoum. Syria: this nation isn't really well-served by any major airlines, though connecting options to exist in Amman, Kuwait, or Moscow if your airport services those cities. However, you will be flying, among other relatively unknown options, Syrian Air into Damascus. Tajikistan: the most available option is once again a Turkish Airlines connection in Istanbul, although for New York travelers, Uzbekistan Airways is also an option. Tanzania: in addition to Turkish Airlines, several options in Africa and the Middle East exist as one-stop connection options to Dar es Salaam. Thailand: there are so many options you can use as one-stop connection options throughout the world to Suvarnabhumi. It'll be easy to find one. Timor-Leste: the only option you have to Dili is a connection via Singapore, and even then, you're limited to flying Air Timor on your second leg. Togo: Air France, Brussels Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, and TAP are once again your go to options for intuitive one-stop flights to Lomé Tonga: if your airport serves Air New Zealand, Fiji Airways, or Virgin Australia, then you have a one-stop option to fly into Nuku'Alofa, though Fiji Airways is definitely the easiest and most intuitive option. Tunis: Tunis can be reached with one stop using Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, or Lufthansa from Europe and Royal Air Maroc from Morocco. Turkmenistan: the only option for American travelers for a one-airline one-stop trip to Ashgabat is Turkish Airlines. However, if you want to fly Turkmenistan Airlines, feel free to use Beijing, Frankfurt, or Moscow among other cities as a connection. Tuvalu: there is no way you can reach Funafuti in just one stop from the mainland US. Your best bet is if you utilize the one-stop option into Tarawa, and then you're limited to flying Air Kiribati into Tuvalu. Uganda: your best bets are Turkish Airlines or a handful of African and Middle Eastern carriers with flights into Entebbe, including Ethiopian and Emirates. Vanuatu: if you're in Los Angeles, you can connect in Brisbane via Virgin Australia. Otherwise, you'd most likely have to utilize Fiji Airways into Nadi and then use a different airline to fly into Port Vila. Vatican City: this city is basically surrounded by Rome, which flies to several American cities. Understandably, you cannot fly directly into the Vatican. Venezuela: the most intuitive option would probably be a connection in Port-of-Spain via Caribbean Airlines, but that option is open to only a very limited number of travelers. Vietnam: both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are very well covered by a plethora of Asian airlines, so you won't find any shortage of one-stop services to either city. Yemen: due to conflict, there are no flights into Yemen at this time. Zambia: Emirates, Ethiopian, Kenya Airways, South African, and Turkish are all options you could consider. Zimbabwe: South African is the only airline I'm close to certain offers one-stop services to Harare from the US. Wikipedia says Emirates and Kenya Airways also fly here, but I'm not sure if there's a stopover included on those flights. BONUS: territories, dependencies, disputed territories, and nations with limited recognition: Abkhazia: from my research, there are no commercial flights into Abkhazia. Åland Islands: your only option, and thankfully one that's available to a good number of Americans, is a Finnair connection in Helsinki to Mariehamn. Artsakh (aka Nagorno-Karabakh): I don't believe any commercial flights exist to Artsakh. Christmas Island: there are, unfortunately, no one-stop options from the US. You would have to connect via Perth via Virgin Australia Regional Airlines, and sadly, no direct flights from the US exist to Perth. You can only stick to Virgin Australia the whole way if you're flying from Los Angeles. Speaking of which... Cocos (Keeling) Islands: the same situation exists as above. Cook Islands: you can purchase a ticket to Rarotonga from Los Angeles via Air New Zealand, but it includes at least one stopover. That's the only option I can see, and I'm not sure how many stops it actually includes. Falkland Islands: there are no commercial services into the Falkland Islands from my research. Faroe Islands: among major airlines, your only option is a SAS connection in Copenhagen, but thankfully SAS flies to the Danish capital from a handful of American airports. If you must connect elsewhere in Europe, other seasonal options exist via Atlantic Airways. French Guiana: it is possible to buy an Air France ticket from Miami to Cayenne but it includes at least one stopover, and I'm not sure how many specifically. Gibraltar: thankfully British Airways services a ton of US airports because one of only two one-stop options on major airlines involves a connection in London Heathrow. Royal Air Maroc also offers a connection in Casablanca for some passengers. Greenland: a one-stop connection exists at Keflavik but it's only seasonal and it involves a transfer to Air Greenland (you might remember it as the airline Walter Mitty flew). Guernsey: you'd have to hope your airport services Birmingham (UK), Düsseldorf, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London Gatwick, or Manchester for a shot at a one-stop service into this island. Even then, you'll be transferring to a different airline. Isle of Man: two options exist on major airlines. The more available one is if you're flying through Dublin on Aer Lingus. New York travelers can also utilize a British Airways connection at London City. In the latter, the return flight will include a stopover at Shannon. Jersey: the only continuous one-stop one-airline service from the US involves a British Airways transfer at Gatwick. Seasonal service also exists from Aer Lingus via Dublin, and if you don't mind the extra mileage, Lufthansa via Munich as well. Macau: this airport is served by several major Chinese airlines including Air China, China Eastern, and China Souther, so you have your options open if you insist on a one-stop one-airline flight. Mayotte: this applies only to New York travelers who can utilize a one-stop connection at Nairobi using Kenya Airways. Montserrat: non-charter services only exist from Antigua, which thankfully is served by several American destinations. However, you will have to fly either ABM Air or FlyMontserrat into the volcanic island. New Caledonia: if your airport serves Air New Zealand and/or Qantas, you can make a one-stop connection at Auckland, Sydney, or Brisbane. Niue: this airport serves only one destination, and thankfully it's Auckland and served by Air New Zealand. A handful of American passengers can utilize Auckland as a connection into this island. Norfolk Island: if you insist on a one-stop connection, you'd have to switch to Air Chathams from Auckland to fly into the island. Otherwise, you'd have to put up with a multi-stop connection on Air New Zealand from Auckland to either Brisbane or Sydney and then to the island. Northern Cyprus: Turkish Airlines is the most viable option for most Americans as you can make a connection in Istanbul to this nation recognized only by, you guessed it, Turkey. Pitcairn Islands: there is no air service to the Pitcairn Islands. The easiest way for some American travelers to get there is a two-stop connection on Air Tahiti Nui Papeete first, then Air Tahiti to Totegegie. From there, take a boat to these remote islands. Reunion: if your airport serves Paris Orly either via Air France or French Bee, you can make a one-stop connection there to Reunion. Other one-stop options exist at CDG and Johannesburg to name a few, but you'd have to switch to Air Austral to fly into this island. Saba: the only non-charter services into Saba are available via Winair. Thankfully, Winair has a direct link to Sint Maarten from Saba, an airport which is served by a good number of American airports. Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha: flying into St. Helena on a year-round basis is only possible via Airlink from Johannesburg which some American airports do serve. You can only fly charter from Johannesburg into Ascension, also via Airlink. Tristan da Cunha, sadly, has no airport. Saint Martin: most passengers would probably prefer just flying into Sint Maarten and accessing Saint Martin while on the Dutch/French dependent territory. If you absolutely must fly into Saint Martin, one-stop options exist via Guadeloupe and Martinique, but you won't be flying the same airline on the second leg. Saint Pierre and Miquelon: you have to be ready to transfer to Air Saint-Pierre on the second leg. Thankfully, it flies out of Halifax and Montreal which are both connected to several American airports directly. Somaliland: if you must go here, you can connect via Ethiopian at Addis Ababa to Hargeisa, the capital. A connection also exists at Dubai, but you'd have to transfer to flydubai on the second leg. South Ossetia: I don't believe there's any commercial service into here. Svalbard and Jan Mayen: your two options for one-stop connections into Svalbard from the US are Norwegian and SAS. As Jan Mayen is uninhabited, there is no commercial air service into there. Tokelau: there are no airports on this island. Get ready to brave the ocean on boat. Transnistria: there is no commercial service into this nation with limited recognition. Wallis and Futuna: Aircalin is the only airline that serves this dependent territory. I'm not sure if it flies directly from Nadi to Wallis, but if it does, that's your one-stop option available to some American travelers (specifically, those that can fly Fiji Airways out of their home airport). If you want to get to Futuna, then you'd have to get to Wallis first and then Aircalin will hop you over there as well. Western Sahara: Royal Air Maroc serves two airports in Western Sahara from Casablanca, though I'm unsure if there are additional connect points. If you insist on a one-stop connection in Europe, one actually exists in Paris CDG, but you'd have to transfer to Transavia on the second leg (and it's seasonal too...).
I’d love to see the ability to open up your own business, sell handmade products and stuff like that. Maybe add business properties to real Estate?
stocks and investments: ability to buy/sell shares and other Securities.
Job-related Events: maybe that’s already in the game and I just wasn’t lucky enough, but random Events that can appear according to your career with different outcomes so you can kinda „directly influence“ your job performance from time to time.
job-related risks: what I mean is that when you’re a cop you could get injured during a police operation or when you’re in the army, you could actually be deployed to a war zone and get killed on the battlefield. Kinda correlates with the job events above.

That would simulate the spiral into crime that can happen when people can’t get gainful employment. Your spouse/kids/parents/siblings could find out and ask you to quit your “life of crime” and promise to go straight, force-resigning you from your job. If you got another crime job, it could lead to a huge reduction in relationship, or even abandonment/divorce. Different job levels could have different dangers. You could have a chance of getting addicted to the drugs you sell or being assaulted or killed.

Monarchy
king, dictator, or other ruler (basically pays the most but is super high-risk, you’ve gotta murder people, win elections, bribe foreign governments, etc.) The 1 in 1000000 chance of being born a monarch depending on where you are born ( so not in the USA or other countries without kings and queens) it would be so cool to have millions of pounds at the start and then get to help make law and even have the chance to make international decisions with massive consequences.
Animal Careers

Zookeeper; A zookeeper has random events that would get you killed by your animals. Become a pimp.
Animal Breeder cat or dog breeder, if you’d buy two (male, female) animals of the same breed there could be a chance that you’d get a prompt the following years (something like ‘your pet, (pet name) is pregnant! would you like to become a professional breeder?’). imo your karma should plummet if you choose to do that because professional breeding is a dubious business
Military & Police:
I think the events you see happening in other countries, and sometimes even your own should actually have an impact. Like wars, soldiers should be able to fight and places like Canada could send you in as a peacekeeper if there is a war or something along that line. Natural disasters would be cool too!
So I think the Police career is kinda dull, same with the military but Bitlife already replied to that, so, it’s kinda the same deal with the military it’s dull, I think there should be crimes that pop up etc, a store robbery, bank robbery, solving a murder, chasing down a pickpocket, all that because most of the careers where there’s supposed to be stuff happening doesn’t happen, BitLife probably already thought of this but I thought I’d might write this just to remind them, great game btw.

Can we get a PhD option and Professor career track? I think there should be a professor career path added along with a PhD option. After graduating you can be eligible for Associate Professor which starts off in the low 100s and maybe they'll get promoted to Professor which is in the 200k-300k range.
When you choose to retire, you could get "Professor Emeritus" as a title instead of "Retired" and still receive small stipends every now and then.
I also think there should be more options with graduate school. Perhaps if you're adding the career track, they could become a "Lecturer" and eventually "Senior Lecturer."
Have them applicable to existing jobs or feel free to add new ones More post-college options, especially for community college. Aside from being a dental hygienist there really doesn’t seem to be much incentive for our characters to go to community college.
Religion
I suggest adding Religions, it will be like a pop-up, and it will appear: What's your religion? Christianism, Judaism, Islamism, Atheist, and then will occur relate events, like:
Yeah, can we do something with the religiousness bar? I'm cool with it being a religiousness bar, but maybe there could be actual stuff to do with religion. If you want to avoid political drama it could be silly or made-up religions, or actual ones. I just figure that if there's a religiousness bar for your parents, missionaries who come to your door, and the option to make a career as an exorcist it would be cool to see your level of 'religiousness' too, maybe upon your death or something.
A Christian woman is arguing with you because you are Atheist. /Argue Back/ /Convert to Christianism/ /Assault/ /Leave/.
Or: Another Islamic guy is arguing with you because you didn't visited Mecca already. /Argue Back/ /Plan a trip to Mecca/ /Assault/ Leave/

! Of course, there should also be an option to believe in "Bitlifeism/Philosophy" the belief you’re an actually a character in BitLife.
Wearing a Hijab or other type of Head Coverings
Animals
Enter them into competitions! Or maybe breed them
Becoming an animal breeder is one idea.
Also finding a stray animal and having the option to bring him/her brought home to keep as your own should be a random event.
Bring them on vacation with you!
I feel like an option to have 2 different dog breeds (eg. Poodle and Shih Tzu) cross breed then have Shih Poo pups would be really cool. There could also be a cross breeder in the pets section which you can request 2 different breeds to mix and have mixed puppies.
Make them part of a divorce settlement! Like if your ex wants custody of the pet you should hire an attorney to help you keep custody or you can let them have it.
Are alligators’ part of the exotic pets on IOS? If not, then add alligators! Also add the ability to get arrested for letting your domesticated dog or cat into the wild.
Abandoning pets to fend for themselves should be illegal like it is in real life.
Also, the ability for your pets run away from home and we can have the option to contact the animal shelter or put up "Lost pet" posters to have a chance of finding them.
Another idea is the ability to rehome your pets with a grown child of your character or a sibling/grandchild/etc.
I’ve had stray animals I’ve rescued
Treats.
If we buy a horse can, we have an option to participate in horse races??
I would love to have more Ribbons related to pets, such as ‘Animal Hero’ if you adopt a certain amount of them?
when you take your animal on a walk you should have an option to bring your wife or your kids with you (bulk relationship points (kind of like a vacation))
I REALLY want a tibetan mastiff, ( The most expensive dog in the world) PLEASE google it and as soon as you see it I bet you will agree with me and hope almost as much as much as I do!One went for 1.6 million but it was white. They cost at least a grand tho
Also add in a zoo director thing and allow you to build new exhibits with animals in them.
Dress the animals
The animals would like or not like it same as bathe
I’d like to be able to foster pets
As well as personally groom them or professionally groom them.
Make them a service dog
Also please add more variety in animals like more reptiles maybe even tarantulas’ You guys are doing amazing
Luxury/Money
Please add apartments It would add so much to the game. It could be small studios all the way up to penthouses. It would also be possible to rent apartments for cheaper than a mortgage, but it would not add to your net worth.
As well as off the grid Housing
Also, in cities like NYC please make it basically just apartments and townhouses. And make the price really high for realism
Of now there is not a lot of ways to spend your hard-earned riches. I would love to see the additions of more purchasable items such as:
Yachts, they could be like houses so you could throw parties and maybe choose to go on vacation to it and choose its location. Obviously extremely expensive to buy and maintain maybe, $5M-$50M to purchase and $100k-$500k a year maintenance fee.
Private Jets, again only for the very rich ballers of BitLife. Would make it” free” to go on holidays (maybe fly to your yacht), but instead have a huge maintenance fee. Price to purchase and maintain similar to that of the yacht.
Art would be able to choose if you want it in your house or in a museum. It could be all from $500 for a painting to a $100M sculpture. Some may go up in value some may go down
Watches and jewelry, every rich person need a little bling. Please add gold chains, god necklaces, diamond earrings and most of all watches with different brands and an ability to collect rare watches.
And last but not least holiday houses, everything from a trailer in a camping for maybe $15k to a luxury penthouse in NYC for $45M depending on what you could swing
Private islands too. But private islands depending on the location go from $4k to newer $100 million
Add the ability to control your spending
Please give us the ability to choose our outflow through different choices all affecting your character. Ex you could choose the kind of food,” cheap” to” royal” (don’t use these terms) where the” royal” foods would make you healthier and much happier and” cheap” would make you happier and healthier
Then like now mortgages and maintenance costs will add on. But this would give us the opportunity to choose where to spend your money on, food, clothes, drinks, and a lot more and this could help you stretch to afford a house or really live like a king. It would also help with retiring early, if you feel you have made money enough then you could control you outflow better not making it bigger each year and being able to live of your riches without a job
As well it could be added to stuff like dog food cat food or even an allowance for the kids
As well as gas for the cars
Family & Parenting:
• Strict parents - Parents should have different levels of strictness, which is based off of their religiousness bar. Parents with super high religious bars should not let you hang out with friends, potentially kick you out of the house for coming out of the closet, and for teenage relationships, there could be a risk of strict parents breaking them up.
• Gifts - If you have a good relationship with your relatives, they should be able to occasionally give you money as a birthday gift when you age up, without you asking for it. Rich parents could also gift you a car after you get your driver's’ license.
I think it would be cool if we’ll off parents could give their kids allowance while they’re young. It’s hard to make money while in school so it would mean that you could make a little bit for the gym and so forth. It might also be cool to be able to get a part time job while in school. Love this game!

Suggestions: Great-Grandchildren, Uncles and Aunts, and Calendars?
So I was thinking of the idea of being able to have great-grandchildren, since that seems to be impossible now, and maybe there could be a "Legacy" ribbon associated with it? (i.e. for having a certain amount of total descendants as opposed to "Fertile" which is for a total amount of children). We could possibly also interact with Uncles and Aunts, which would especially be interesting in a legacy challenge to see how our previous lives' siblings are doing. ANd maybe a calendar or some way to have anniversary or birth dates and it might randomly quiz you on when your anniversary is if you fail to maintain a good relationship with your spouse to see whether or not you've "forgotten your anniversary" (since that might sometimes happen IRL too ;) ). Thoughts?
Relationships
I think there should be polygamic relationships (more than two people) added into the game cause it would add a nice drama and relationship building aspect and along with that add the option to have a foursome and so on.
In most countries, polygamy is illegal, but in countries like saudi Arabia it is legal as long as it is a man and several women.
Last one lol, step siblings/parents. If your parents aren’t together or you start dating someone, there should be a possible chance of that person having a kid or kids.
If a hookup goes well or results in a child their should be an option to date whoever you hooked up with
Infidelity:
You should be able to cheat on people and have several families
The random chance of meeting up with an ex later in life, maybe with the chance to ask them out again. Or vice versa.
Leading on from that, you could maybe have the chance of seeing your ex with their new partner, and have the option to... I dunno, assault them because you’re obsessive and salty? Or to chat or to start an argument, or, naturally, to ignore them
Since there are various options when your partner wants to leave you, what if there was a chance for them to beg you to take them back when you leave t h e m? Or for them to assault you, etc.
Karen snatching yo kids, if you’re married with children and get a divorce, maybe you could lose connection with your children depending on your life choices, financial status, how many people you most likely murdered (just me?... Just me.)
• The opportunity to reconnect with your hookup after you have an accidental child with them. Be it friendship or starting a romantic relationship, especially if you have a kid it should be an option.
•Having a constant side-piece while you’re still married (an ongoing affair)
•Have a constant hookup, not just a random one each time
•Be able to reconcile with Ex’s (S/O’s or Ex-Spouses)
You should be able to cheat on people and have several families
Friends:
• Best friends - when you end up meeting people at the club/in public, there should be an option to either date them, become their best friend, or neither. If you become their best friend, they could get added to your family list so you can actually hang out with them and have a relationship bar with them. Kids could make best friends, too. It would also make things a lot more real when your friends come to you for help in the game
Friends in BitLife
I think I speak for many when I say I’d love to see the addition of friends in BitLife, beyond the occasional pop ups of “your best friend did X” of course, or the ability to murder🔪 them.
🔹My thinking was that friends could start to pop up as soon as you start school at age 6. On the occupations tab, an option called “find new friends” would appear alongside the “drop out of school” and “study harder” options.
🔹the younger you are, the easier it would be to make friends, and you’ll be more likely to accumulate larger numbers of them.
🔹At age 6 for example, you could tap the “find new friends” button and you’d make 5 at once, with >90% chance of doing so — as you got older however, the number you’d make when you tap the button would decline, and the chances you’d make any at all would decline too.
🔹Your stats would also affect how likely you are to make friends — aka better looks, better smarts, and richer parents would increase chances — as an adult meanwhile, finances would cease to be a factor, and your following on social media would become a factor.
🔹the “find new friends” button would work once a year.
🔹Friends you make would pop up in a new section under the relationships tab. Your relationship bars with them would start out as half full.
🔹You’d have the usual interactions with them, like “have a conversation,” “spend time,” “go to the movies,” “give/ask money,” etc.
🔹Also, though, you’d have the ability to set them as one of three: Best Friend (max of 1), Good Friend (max of 5), or simply leave them as “Friend”
🔹to set them as “Best Friend,” you must have a full relationship bar with them — To set them as “Good Friend,” you must have 3/4 relationship bar with them.
🔹 Best Friends would stick around regardless of your relationship bar with them, unless it hit absolute bare minimum for a certain number of years.
🔹 Good Friends would stick around until your relationship bar with them got into the red, in which case they’d revert to simply “Friends.”
🔹Standard Friends would stick around until your relationship bar with them dipped below half, after which point, they’d leave after one year.
🔹Relationship bars would drain slower with Best Friends and Good Friends than it would with Standard “Friends.” Relationship bars would also drain slower the older you are.
🔹You could have as many friends as you want, though bear in mind maintaining all of them would require lots of interacting with all of them, which takes still, like in real life.
🔹While in school, if you’re being bullied, one new option would be to tell your best friend (if you’ve set a friend as that by that point), in which case your best friend would attack the bully.
🔹 (The odds you’d be bullied btw would go down if you have more friends).
🔹You may also run into a scenario where your best friend is being bullied (much like your siblings), and you’d have the option to attack the bully.
🔹Once you’ve hit adulthood, you would have the option to take your best friend (if you have one) on vacation if you wish.
🔹Another thing would be that you’d have the option to ask friends out on a date, in which case there’d be a chance of them saying “yes,” “friend-zoning” you, or unfriending you altogether.
🔹the closer you are with them (based on relationship bars as well as their status to you, aka “Best Friend” vs “Friend”), the more likely they’d say “yes.” Also, the number of years you’ve known them would impact chances.
🔹If they say no, aka “friend-zone” you, your relationship bar with them would drop slightly, but you’d remain friends regardless (unless they decide instead to unfriendly you altogether).
🔹This could open the door for “dating” at age 6, though the odds of one saying “yes” would be extremely slim at that age, and the chances of break up the following year would be extremely high.
🔹Other ways to obtain friends besides school would be at your job, once you have one — “find new friends” would be added to occupations tab for all occupations.
🔹Any friends made from the jobs tab would bear the same occupation as you. Also, any friends in the same field as you will see their relationship bar with you drain more slowly.
🔹You could also go clubbing, in which case you’d have a chance to make a new friend. Going to the gym, the library, or throwing a house party could also give that chance.
🔹Going on vacation could potentially give the chance to make new friends in places elsewhere from where you live, in which case you have em as long-distance friends.
🔹And of course, siblings would have a new “make friends with their friends” tab added under interactions — the odds of this succeeding would depend on your age difference.
🔹This would also be the case with your boyfriend/girlfriend/fiancé/spouse, who’d also have a “make friends with their friends” tab — the odds of it succeeding with them would be much higher.
🔹Lastly, you’d have a random chance of just making a new friend without doing anything each year.
🔹the number of friends you had during your life would be displayed on your tombstone at death, meanwhile your “best friend” as well as “good friends” would attend your funeral.
🔹If a “good friend” or “best friend” dies, you’d have the option to attend their funeral too, and they’d remain in the relationships tab as “late friends” for you to mourn them.
• Long-Distance friendships/relationships through social media
Potential New Ribbons:
🚶♂️Lonely — Have no friends, no wife, or kids, and ignore any family members throughout your entire life. Have no one attend your funeral.
👯♀️Popular — Have at least 100 friends throughout your life (at least 20 of whom you acquire during school), start befriending them at age 6, have at least 3 of them be your “best friend” at some point, and at least 15 as “good friends” at some point. Have the max number of friends attend your funeral.
☮️Loyalist — Maintain every friend you make from square one, and also acquire at least 20 of them by the age of 40.
💍One True Pair — Have only one friend throughout your entire life — befriend them at age 6, make them your best friend, if they get bullied at some point, help them — eventually ask them out, later on get married and possibly have children. Have no other friends besides that one special one.
Also getting kicked out for teen pregnancy or forced abortions from Parents
But with extended families the likelihood is the relationship tab will be crowded and divided into loads of sub-categories. To combat that maybe there should be a family tree of some sort. (Or even a filter of sorts)
When you go to a vacation, besides making new friends, I would add also the possibility to meet a new lover, exactly like you do when you go to the library. And in that case the name of the person is different based on which country you go on vacation!! And then you could have the option to emigrate to that country and be with that person, but you have to marry him eventually, within a certain amount of years otherwise you are forced to leave the country, depending on that country's immigration rules (for example in Italy rules are very soft, whereas in China and USA are very strict). And I think when you go to a vacation, it could show up many other options, like "you lost your passport, what do you do?" With the possibility to be sent back to your country and to have an impact to your criminal record. Or also: "a person offered you this food or drug, what do you do?" And you also could end up in jail or just food poisoning. I think that now going on a vacation is pointless, it just improves your happiness but nothing relevant happens.
great grandchildren
grandparents
aunts and uncles too!
Cousins
Can you have more than one child each year? Like if you’re a male can you impregnate more than one woman each year, so you have heaped more offspring?
It is possible, in one life I got quadruplets and triplets, if you get lucky you might get twins in the first try, you have to impregnate someone younger than 18 or older around 40 to get the best chance outcomes.
It would make sense to have a higher chance of multiples if you get ivf
Legalities:
Divorce Disputes:
Custody agreements,
finance disputes rather than the usual payment to spouse,
LAWYERS,
the option to separate but not divorce
Karen snatching yo kids, if you’re married with children and get a divorce, maybe you could lose connection with your children depending on your life choices, financial status, how many people you most likely murdered (just me?... Just me.)
We should be able to have our spouse inherit the hard assets and our children inherit the money.
Being able to select whose last name children take. I HATE it when I play as a female and the child, I got from a hook-up has their father's last name.
When playing as a woman 21-64 in Saudi Arabia or Iran, the icon should be the “woman with hijab” emoji. Those countries have strict decency laws.
Being able to select in the will, leaving it all to your sons or all to your daughters. I was playing a life in Saudi Arabia and I had one daughter and two sons, and I wanted to leave it all to the sons as is commonly done there, but I had to just leave it all to one son.
Crime
Crimes available as early as 6- cases like this have happened in real life. I would totally abuse this option for murdering my younger siblings.
I really want gangs!
Being able to assault your siblings, no matter what age they are. If you assault a newborn, it has an extremely high chance of dying because it cannot fight back, and newborns are also very weak.
More crimes:
robbing a bank
selling drugs. You can already sell drugs though if someone asks you in the game
you should be able to hack into other peoples bank account the richer the person he harder to hack. and it's easier with higher intelligence
Prison
You should be able to trade cigarettes for safety and sleep with other inmates.
The ability to call family members while in prison would be nice.
Conjugal visits once a year
Escape in a group to distract the guard
Work out
Try to learn or go back to school
More Transportation Instead of Cars
Skateboards
Bicycles
Taxis
Walking
Bus
Subways
Carpooling
Realistic Stuff
New Life:
More things to do in the first 10 years, especially at ages 1 and 2.
Selecting your race in the “New Life” menu.
Adding siblings in the “New Life” menu.
When you make a custom person or play a custom life, you should be able to edit how you want your person to look
Babies, Toddlers, adn Newborns:
Babies shouldn't be able to die from drug overdoses, and for kids it should be put that they thought it was candy.
Being able to take children to the doctor.
Newborns shouldn't be able to ask you to take them to do something- since they obviously can't talk
Finances
•Stock Market:
•Own your own business
Scams or scammers a pop up may come up saying “you have come across a ad saying [ex. Get a free smartphone!!] what will you do? [options: try it,no I won’t try it, ignore it] or “ you have got a message by a account you don’t know sending you a link to get a [ex. Free Ariana Grande tour tickets] what will you do? [options: try it, delete it, ignore it]
•Odds for Horse Races
• Add a store to go to where you can buy things, like food or alcohol or car repair stuff, etc. Let me spend my money!
• Hobbies! Like part time jobs. Let me be a lawyer but also a hobbyist bird watcher or painter! Handy for those boring retirement years.
can you add a shop in the activities so then you can take your kid there and get them a phone and your relationship will go up with them. By the age of 13 you are allowed to buy them a phone. The kids can also ask their parents for a phone. During that can access social media on the phone.
Hobbies/skills should be added such as a singing skill which could result into you getting into the singing career
Pensions - I think it would be a great idea to receive pensions from a company after working for one company for a certain amount of time. As of right now, when you retire, all you do is lose money.
Specific Actions tailored to your career. For example: —Pop Star: Drop albums, Go on tour, Publicity Events, etc.
Other
When playing as a female, you shouldn't just be forced to get an abortion. It should instead be a prompt that says something like your partner wants to get an abortion, but you want to keep it. Will you still keep it, agree to get an abortion, assault him, or break up with/divorce him? (BTW I never get abortions unless I contract something that can't be treated without going to the witch doctor)
•Be able to work while in high school/college
Hospitals, Diseases, & Disabilities:
Disabilities - Every once in a while, a baby should be born with a physical or mental disability.
This could impact certain events depending on the disability, such as lifespan, smarts, abilities, etc. (For example: if someone is born blind, they can’t get a drivers’ license). You could also potentially get into accidents throughout your life that leave you impaired in some way
Maybe we could have an opinion if you get in a car accident that we get into the hospital for a while and get a bit of game play inside there. Or something like that ~
Ooo, long term hospital stays could be treated like prison. You can't work, if you're in too long you get fired, &c.
Scenarios
can you add a nuclear war scenario?
And let’s say it happens you could buy a bunker. Also, it could add multiple scenarios in game!
Or, could you add a zombie apocalypse scenario?
Before adding zombies
Add buying treehouses
And hammers
And saltlicks

This guide is mostly for people who never played Gold or Silver back in the days, but there might be some bits of information that even seasoned veterans might find interesting. With Gold/Silver being re-released for Virtual Console in September, it is time to recall some tips and tricks to make the most out of the games. 1: Should you play Gold or Silver? There are suprisingly few differences between both games. The only thing worth noting are version exclusives.
Version Exclusives in Silver: Vulpix, Ninetales, Meowth, Persian, Ledyba, Ledian, Delibird, Skarmory, Phanpy, Donphan
Version Exclusives in Gold: Mankey, Primeape, Growlithe, Arcanine. Spinarak, Ariados, Gligar, Teddiursa, Ursaring, Mantine
Notice something? That's right, you can catch both Lugia and Ho-Oh in both games. The difference is that in Silver, you can catch Lugia at Lv.40 before the League and Ho-Oh at Lv .70 after the League and in Gold, you can catch Ho-Oh at Lv.40 before the League and Lugia at Lv.70 after the League. Also, Lugia will know its signature move Aeroblast in Silver only while Ho-Oh will know its signature move Sacred Fire in Gold only. However, if you decide to transfer your legendary to a 7th generation game, you can relearn these moves via move reminder. Speaking of transferring Pokemon, remember that all Pokemon from Gen 2 will have their Hidden Ability after being transferred. You want that Hidden Ability Gligar to evolve it into Poison Heal Gliscor for your competitive Gen7 team later on? Then it is the Gold Version for you! Also Side Note, you can determine the nature your Pokemon will have after the transfer, it all comes down to the last 2 digits of that Pokemon's experience Another minor difference is that each Pokemon has a different sprite in the 2 versions. No effect on gameplay, but if you care about this aesthetical aspect, you might check out the sprites of the Pokemon you care about at Bulbapedia. 2: Legendary Pokemon (and how to catch them) Aside from the already mentioned mascot legendaries, you are also able to catch the 3 legendary beasts Raikou, Entei and Suicune. Since these 3 are roaming around Johto and trying to flee whenever you encounter them, a Pokemon with Mean Look is advisable. I recommend HaunteGengar, because it is available early in the game and also learns Hypnosis, which is just as useful because as soon as you locked the beasts into battle, they will try to roar you away. Jynx is another option as it learns Mean Look and Lovely Kiss, which has a higher accuracy than Hypnosis. But since Jynx is slow, you have to train it to ~ Lv.50 so it can outspeed the dogs. A third option is Parasect, which can't learn Mean Look but learns Spore, the only 100% accuracy sleep-inducing move. False Swipers (to bring the opposing Pokemon down to 1 HP exactly) exist, but they are few and far between. You can choose between Scyther, Cubone and Farfetch'd. You could also breed Spearow and Paras with False Swipe, but that requires you to catch Scyther or Farfetch'd in the first place, so why go the extra mile? If you insist on having a False Swiper, I'd recommend Scyther as it is available early in the game and learns False Swipe already at Lv.18. Due to a stupid bug, the status conditions of paralysis, burn and poison increase the catch rate by 0 as opposed to by 5, and since freeze is unreliable, your best bet is to put any Pokemon you want to catch to sleep. It could be that GF will fix this bug in the Virtual Console versions. 3: Interactable Pokemon Be warned. Gold/Silver are not so kind to respawn interactable Pokemon like the Red Gyarados, they are truly once per game. Don't be a fool like me 15 years ago and kill Sudowoodo just because you think it looks stupid. Whenever you see an interactable Pokemon in the overworld, catch it. An exception to this rule is Lapras. It appears once every Friday in Union Cave even if you defeat or catch it (so in theory, you can catch as many as you want). However, you need Surf to reach it (you get Surf after the 4th gym). If caught right after the 4th gym, Lapras joins you at a reasonable level and is a great addition to any in-game team still lacking a water type.
Interactable Pokemon in Johto: Lapras, Sudowoodo, Red Gyarados
Interactable Pokemon in Kanto: Snorlax
4: Gift Pokemon Over the course of the game, you will receive certain gift Pokemon:
Spearow (KENYA, from guard in Goldenrod City), Eevee (from Bill in Goldenrod City), Togepi (story), Shuckle(story but optional, available in Cianwood City after your rival steals Kirk's Sneasel), Tyrogue (Mt.Mortar)
While most of these are worth picking up (because they are hard or not at all to be found in the wild), most of them are either underleveled or just too weak to become a valuable team member. There is one exception though: Meet KENYA. KENYA (Spearow) is received from the guard in the southern gate of route 35 (north from Goldenrod City) and holds a mail. You are supposed to deliver KENYA and the mail to the guard's friend on route 31. My advice: Don't do it! Instead, put the mail in your pc, give it to one of your Pokemon you don't need anymore and deliver that Pokemon instead to receive TM50 (Nightmare). KENYA joins you at a reasonable level and its OT is "Randy". This means it counts as trade Pokemon and gains increased experience per battle. Combine that with the fact that normal/flying type Pokemon were a big deal in the first gens and you get a bird that serves you well until late game. Kirk gives you his Shuckle as he is afraid your rival might steal it just like his Sneasel. He will later ask for Shuckle back. If the player agrees, he will let him/her keep it if it has high friendship; otherwise he will take it back. Before taking it back, he will ask the player to take the Berry Juice held by Shuckie. However, he will accuse the player of stealing if Shuckie is not returned (remember, when was the last time a Pokemon game allowed you to be the bad guy?). The important part though is that Shuckle can convert any berry it holds to Berry Juice after a certain period of time. A myth says that the Berry Juice will be converted to a Rare Candy after an even longer period of time, however, this myth seems to be busted. Pro tip: If you are going to get Tyrogue in Mt. Mortar, leave 1 free space in your Pokemon team. Also you need Surf and Waterfall and preferably Flash to reach it. 5: In-game trades
In-game trades in Johto: Onix, Machop, Voltorb, Rhydon,
In-game trades in Kanto: Rapidash, Aerodactyl
In-game trades are always a nice thing thanks to the increased experience traded Pokemon receive after a battle. Still, not all of the available trades are a good deal. I can recommend Onix and Machop since the trade material is easy to acquire (Bellsprout, Drowzee) and both Pokemon help you immediately (Onix is good against Falkner's flying types while Machop works wonders against Whitney's Miltank). Aerodactyl's trainer requires a Chansey as trade material and Chansey can only be found at Route 13, 14 and 15 at a 1% encounter rate. Unfortunately, it's the only way to get Aerodactyl in the game, so the choice is up to you. Voltorb and Rapidash are not really worth it since you can catch Voltorb in the Rocket Headquarters.,Rapidash can be caught at the end of the game at Mt. Silver and Ponyta are all over the place in Kanto. Rhydon is a total rip-off as the trader demands a female Dragonair for it. You'd need the super rod to get a Dragonair, but the super rod is only available in mid Kanto, so you would have to use the good rod to catch a Dratini, train it to Lv.30 and evolve it. Rhydon might be rare, but it's not that valuable (unless it's your favorite and you just need to have it on your team before the E4). 6: Evolution items First of all, most of the evolution items are only given to you once per game. You might still get additional ones from wild Pokemon who hold these items, but it's a tedious grind. Use them wisely.
Sun Stone (Gloom -> Bellossom, Sunkern -> Sunflora): 1st Prize of Bug catching contest
King's Rock (Poliwhirl -> trade -> Politoed, Slowpoke -> trade -> Slowking): found at Slowpoke Well (1x), held by wild Slowpoke and Poliwhirl (8%)
Metal Coat (Onix -> trade -> Steelix, Scyther -> trade -> Scizor): found on S.S. Aqua (1x), held by wild Magnemite (8%)
Dragon Scale (Seadra -> trade -> Kingdra): found at Mt. Mortar (1x), Held by wild Horsea, wild Seadra, wild Dratini, and wild Dragonair (8%)
Up-Grade (Porygon -> Trade -> Porygon2): found at Silph Co.
Moon Stone (Nidorino -> Nidoking, Nidorina -> Nidoqueen, Clefairy -> Clefable, Jigglypuff -> Wigglytuff): Tohjo Falls (1x, requires Surf but not waterfall), 5th purchase of mom if you allow her to save your money, Mt. Moon Square (Mondays, requires Rock Smash)
Fire Stone (Vulpix -> Ninetales, Growlithe -> Arcanine, Eevee -> Flareon): Route 25 (from Bill's grandfather, show him Vulpix in Silver or Growlithe in Gold
Thunder Stone (Pikachu -> Raichu, Eevee -> Jolteon): Route 25 (from Bill's grandfather, show him Pichu)
Water Stone (Poliwhirl -> Poliwrath, Shellder -> Cloyster, Staryu -> Starmie, Eevee -> Vaporeon): Route 25 (from Bill's grandfather, show him Staryu)
Leaf Stone (Gloom -> Vileplume, Weepinbell -> Victribel, Exeggcute -> Exeggutor): Route 25 (from Bill's grandfather, show him Oddish)
7: TMs I won't say much about it, but remember that in Gen2, TMs are one time use only, so choose wisely who should receive that Earthquake. It is also worth noting that the Goldenrod Department store sells the elemental punch TMs. These punches provide good type coverage for many Pokemon (e.g. Thunderpunch for Typhlosion or Ice Punch for Feraligatr). 8: HMs The HMs in this game are: Flash, Cut, Surf, Strength, Fly, Whirlpool, Waterfall. I strongly advise against teaching a permanent team member Flash, Waterfall and Whirlpool (not even your HM slave), because you very rarely need any of these HMs. It is smarter to teach those HMs to a Pokemon you normally don't use and take it into your team when needed:
Whirlpool is required in the Whirl Islands, the Dragon's Den and Route 26 to get SolarBeam
Waterfall is required in Tohjo Falls, Mt. Mortar, and Mt. Silver (I think the Whirl Islands have one but you can get to Lugia without Waterfall. Maybe...It's been a long time, ok?)
Flash is required in Dark Cave, Mt. Silver, and Rock Tunnel
Good temporary HM slaves who can learn Flash, Whirlpool and Waterfall all at once are Psyduck, Staryu and Lanturn. Surf is often needed and a good water attack in general and always better than Waterfall because in Gen 2, all water attacks are special and Surf does more damage than Waterfall. Fly and Strength are not the best attacks, but in-game wise, they are good enough to have them permanently on your team. Cut is horrible, but taking a Pokemon out of the box whenever you encounter a tree is a pain. I'd say just teach it one of your Pokemon and pretend that Cut is as badass as it sounds. 9: Type-enhancing items Each day of the week, you will find one of the week siblings at a certain place in Johto. They will give you an item that boosts attacks of a certain type by 10% when held. The locations are:
Monday: Route 40 - Sharp Beak (Flying+)
Tuesday: Route 29 - Pink Bow (Normal+)
Wednesday: Lake of Rage - Black Belt (Fighting+)
Thursday: Route 36 - Hard Stone (Rock+)
Friday: Route 32 - Poison Barb (Poison+)
Saturday: Blackthorn City - Spell Tag (Ghost+)
Sunday: Route 37 - Magnet (Electro+)
Other type enhancers are:
Black Glasses (Dark+) found in Dark Cave (Shady guy)
Charcoal (Fire+), found in Azalea Town (Charcoal Maker)
Dragon Fang (Dragon+), found in Dragon's Den (does not work)
Miracle Seed (Grass+), found on Route 32
Mystic Water (Water+), found in Cherrygrove City (needs Surf)
NeverMelt Ice (Ice+), found in Ice Path
Polkadot Bow (Normal+), held by Jigglypuff when traded from Gen I to Gen II
Silver Powder (Bug+), held by wild Butterfree (8%)
Soft Sand (Ground+), found on route 34 (Cooltrainer Kate, needs surf to reach)
Twisted Spoon (Psychic+), held by Kadabra traded from Pokemon Yellow
Metal Coat (Steel+), found on S.S. Aqua
Note: Due to a bug, Dragon Fang does not increase the strength of Dragon type moves. Instead, Dragon Scale does! Dragon Scale can be found at Mt. Mortar and its original purpose is to evolve Seadra to Kingdra via trade. It's possible that GF will fix this bug in the versions for Virtual Console 10: Other items you shouldn't miss
Amulet Coin (found in the Goldenrod Department Store basement): If a Pokémon that is holding Amulet Coin is sent into a Trainer battle, the money earned from the battle is doubled. Should be acquired as fast as possible and used as much as possible because making money was not as easy back then as it is in Sun&Moon.
Exp Share (Route 30, from Mr. Pokémon in exchange for Red Scale): When held by a Pokémon, allows it to earn half the EXP gained from defeating a Pokémon, regardless of whether it was used in battle or not. Comes pretty late because you only get the Red Scale after capturing/defeating Red Gyarados. Still good to train your weaker Pokemon.
Leftovers (found in the Celadon City Restaurant in a trash can): When this item is held, at the end of every turn, the holder regains 1/16th of their maximum HP. You just know you are playing a classic Pokemon game when you check the trash cans and actually find something.
Quick Claw (given at the National Park from the woman at Park entrance): Gives the holder a ~23% chance of going first in its priority bracket. I know it's luck based, but for in-game purposes, it's decent.
Smoke Ball (Goldenrod Tunnel): If this item is held by a Pokémon and you try to run away, you will be guaranteed to run. Good if you find yourself in a dungeon full of strong and fast Pokemon. Also, was I the only child who first thought this was some special Poke Ball?
11: Apricorn Balls Apricorn Balls were introduced in Gen 2 and provide you with special bonuses when trying to catch Pokemon. You get them by giving Kurt in Azalea Town an Apricorn berry and it will take him 24 hours to turn it into a ball. Unfortunately, many of the Apricorn Balls had horrible bugs in the original games, rendering them useless. So unless GF fixes those bugs, be aware of the following:
The Love Ball (Pink Apricorn, found on Route 42) was supposed to have a catch rate of 8x when used on a Pokemon of the other gender, but it only gains a catch rate of 8× on Pokémon of the same gender and species as the player's Pokémon.
The Moon Ball (Yellow Apricorn, found on Route 42) was supposed to multiply the catch rate by 4 on Pokémon that evolve with Moon Stone but instead does this on Pokémon that evolve with Burn Heal. Consequently, Moon Ball does not have any additional effect and always acts like a Poké Ball.
The Fast Ball (White Apricorn, found in Azalea Town) was supposed to quadruple the catch rate against all wild Pokémon that can flee, but due to a bug, it only does this for Magnemite, Grimer, and Tangela.
The Level Ball (Red Apricorn, found on Route 37) works as intended: Catch rate is 1× if the player's Pokémon is the same level as or a lower level than the wild Pokémon, 2× if the player's Pokémon is at a higher level than the wild Pokémon but less than double it, 4× if the player's Pokémon is more than double but less than four times the level of the wild Pokémon, 8× if the player's Pokémon is of a level four times or more than that of the wild Pokémon
The Lure Ball (Blue Apricorn, found on Route 37) works as intended: The Catch Rate is 3x if used on a Pokémon encountered while fishing
The Friend Ball (Green Apricorn, found on Route 42) works as intended: Has a catch rate of only 1x but sets caught Pokémon's friendship to 200 immediately. (By the way, the only 2 Pokemon that make good targets for this ball are Chansey and Zubat/Golbat, as they are the only Pokemon evolving through achieving maximum friendship of 255 that can be caught in the wild).
The Heavy Ball (Black Apricorn, found on Route 37) works as intended: Catch rate of -20 if used on Pokémon weighing less than 225.8 lbs, no modifier if used on Pokémon weighing between 225.8 lbs and 451.5 lbs, +20 if used on Pokémon weighing between 451.5 lbs and 677.3 lbs, +30 if used on Pokémon weighing more than 677.3 lbs. It's a bit tricky to determine when a Heavy Ball makes more sense than an Ultra Ball, but according to this site, the only 2 Pokemon a Heavy Ball should be used on are Lugia and Snorlax.
For comparison, the catch rate for a standard Ultra Ball is 2x. 12: The Bug-Catching Contest A competition held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in Johto's National Park. No entry fee. The goal is to catch the best Bug-type Pokemon. You have 20 Park Balls at your disposal and you can only use one Pokemon from your team to weaken your targets. The contest ends when all Park Balls are used, you black out, leave the park, or 20 minutes have passed. The score earned for your Bug-type Pokemon is the sum of the following:
4 times the max HP of the Pokémon
The sum of the Pokémon's other stats
Up to 29 points based on the Pokémon's individual values:
16 points if the Defense IV is odd, 0 otherwise
8 points if the Attack IV is odd, 0 otherwise
4 points if the Special IV is odd, 0 otherwise
1 point if the Speed IV is odd, 0 otherwise
1/8 of the current HP of the Pokémon, rounded down
1 point if the Pokémon is holding an item, 0 otherwise
Since you can't influence the IVs, it is advisable to go for the Pokemon with the highest base stat. For this contest, this would be Scyther and Pinsir. Out of these 2, Scyther gains the upper hand because its HP stat is slightly higher than Pinsir's. Overall, the best Pokemon you could catch in this contest is a Lv.14 Scyther with full HP (try to put it asleep instead of attacking it). Prizes are:
1st: Sun Stone (Evolution item)
2nd: Everstone (Evolution stopper)
3rd: Gold Berry (If the holder's HP falls below 50%, it will consume its held Gold Berry and restore 30 HP)
Consolation Prize: Berry
13: Time Capsule A quick statement about the time capsule. Yes, you can use it to trade between Gen 1 and Gen 2. However, you cannot trade a new Pokemon from Gen 2 to Gen 1 for obvious reasons. You also cannot trade a Pokemon from Gen 2 to Gen1 that either knows a move that didn't exist in Gen 1 or holds an item that didn't exist in Gen 1 (so you can't evolve a Scyther into Scizor by giving it Metal Coat, trading it to Gen 1 and then trading it back). Eggs are not allowed either. However, you can send a Pokemon from Gen 2 to Gen 1 that knows a move that exists in Gen 1 but could not be learned by said Pokemon in Gen 1. Pokemon that are sent from Gen 1 to Gen 2 are guaranteed to hold an item. Which Pokemon holds which item can be seen here: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_wild_held_item_(Generation_II) This is the only way to get certain items in Gen 2, for example the Twisted Spoon, only held by Kadabra traded from Pokemon Yellow. 14: Mother's savings You can allow your mother to save money for you. If you do so, 25% of the money you earn from each battle automatically goes to your mother. She will then proceed to buy certain stuff, be it healing items or decoration for your room. I recommend enabling this feature from the beginning because her 5th purchase is a Moon Stone, and these are rare, especially early in the game. 15: The Phone The phone in your Pokegear can store up to 10 numbers. 2 of them are always taken by your mother and Prof. Elm. Some trainers will try to give you their number and sometimes call you to either inform you about a swarm or call you for a rematch. I find the former option to be much more useful. You gain nothing from rematches that you don't gain from battling the E4 over and over again. The E4 give you more money and their Pokemon have higher levels. Swarm Pokemon on the other hand are very rare outside of swarms, giving those NPCs at least some importance.
Hiker Anthony: Route 32 - Calls to tell you when Dunsparce is available
Fisher Ralph: Route 32 - Calls to tell you when Qwilfish is available
Bug Catcher Arnie: Route 35 - Calls to tell you when Yanma is available
Fisher Wilton: Route 44 - Calls to tell you when Remoraid is available
Schoolboy Chad: Route 38 - Calls to tell you when Snubbull is available
Lass Dana: Route 38 - Calls to tell you when Tauros is available
Hiker Parry: Route 45 - Calls to tell you when Marill is available
Another useful number is Bill's (Goldenrod City). He will call you whenever a PC Box is about to be filled. Back in the days, not changing your box was kind of a horrible situation. Nothing's worse than traveling all the way to Lugia and weaken it, only to hear that the goddamn box is full. 16: Headbutt Not sure if it was just me, but I completely overlooked this mechanic 15 years ago. The concept is simple: Interact with a special kind of tree while having a Pokemon with the move Headbutt in your team, and with some luck, you will engage in a battle. This is the only way to encounter certain Pokemon (for example Pineco, or the popular Heracross). If done at a certain time of the day, there's a chance that the encountered Pokemon is asleep from the start of the battle, making catching it all the more easier. 17: Game Corner After you get the Coin Case from the Goldenrod Underground, you can try your luck at the Goldenrod Game Corner (or just buy 50 or 500 coins for 1000P or 10,000P respectively). Here are the prizes: TMs:
Fire Blast, Blizzard, Thunder for 5500 coins each. Strong, but inaccurate. I don't think this is necessary for the initial playthrough.
Pokemon:
Abra for 200 coins (cheap but you can catch it for free before you reach Goldenrod City)
Ekans for 700 coins in Gold (the only way to get Ekans in Gold)
Sandshrew for 700 coins in Silver (the only way to get Sandshrew in Silver)
Dratini for 2100 coins (I know you guys want to have a Dragonite in your team, but this one requires patience. Dratini comes at LV 10 so to not be underleveled, you have to get it right away when you arrive in Goldenrod. You also won't have enough money to buy coins, so you have to gamble. If I had to take a guess, I would say that the card flip game has better odds of winning than the slot machine, which is purely luck based. However, so far I haven't found any way to "rig" the system and to reliably win more than I lose. Anyway, even if you manage to get Dratini, its experience growth is abysmally slow, you most likely won't get your Dragonite before Lance and be stuck with the mediocre Dratini and Dragonair for the most part of your Johto journey. You have been warned.)
Prizes in the Celadon Game Corner: TMs:
Double Team for 1500 coins (I wonder how you could lose your friends faster, using Double Team against them or shooting them with the blue shell in Mario Kart)
Psychic for 3500 coins (one of the best attacks, but don't forget you already get Psychic once from Mr.Psychic in Saffron City)
Hyper Beam for 7500 coins (Hyper Beam is not what it used to be in Gen1. Now the user has to recharge in any case, even if Hyper Beam defeated the opposing Pokemon. Usually Body Slam, Return or Double-Edge are better alternatives)
Pokemon:
Mr. Mime for 3333 Coins (Why would you do this when Mr. Mime can be caught at Route 21?)
Eevee for 6666 Coins (Why would you do this when you can just breed the Eevee you got from Bill in Goldenrod City?)
Porygon for 9999 Coins (Why would you do that? Well, because you have to, if you want a Porygon. It's the only way in the game to get one)
Regarding the gambling, I mentioned that I haven't found a way to win more coins than I lose in the long term, but other people apparently had more success. Here are 2 bits I found on the internet:
The player edge in the card-flip game if all bets are made on a single card is 34.55%, about 4% higher than in Roulette. It can be mathematically proven that there is no better system than placing all bets on a single card. The card flip game is the one to play, because the odds are actually in your favor. This is because the deck is only shuffled after twelve flips of the 24-card deck, meaning your odds continue to improve right up until the twelfth card. Just make sure every bet you place only covers cards that have not turned up yet, and always play all twelve flips so you take advantage of the better odds. It may take a while, but in the long run you will win more than you lose.
Maybe some of you have more knowledge in gambling and can tell me which of these texts is right and whether there really is a way to be a winner in the game corner. 18: Badge Boosts In Gen 1-3, acquired badges often gave you a stat boost. For Gen 2, the stat boosts are the following:
Zephyr Badge (1st Gym) boosts Attack
Plain Badge (3rd Gym) boosts Speed
Mineral Badge (6th Gym) boosts defense
Glacier Badge (7th Gym) boosts Special Attack and Special Defense
Stat or stats are increased by 12.5%, meaning the stats corresponding to those badges you do have will actually be 12.5% higher in battle than the stats you see on your Pokémon's summary screen. To be precise, the boosts don't really increase the stats but act as a stat modifier during battle. This boosts are applied in all internal battles, but not link battles. Furthermore, due to a bug, if the attack is a critical hit and the attacker's used offensive stat stage is less than or equal to the opponent's defensive stat stage, all Badge boosts are ignored. There is a second type of badge boost: Type boosts. In Generation II, every Badge boosts the power of the moves of a certain type by 12.5%. The type strengthened matches the type theme of the Gym (for example, Zephyr Badge boosts the Flying-type). These boosts work similarly to the way same-type attack bonus (STAB) boosts work, and are calculated in-between weather modifiers and STAB. Just like stat boosts, type boosts are not applied in link battles. Since there is no Dark-type gym in Gold and Silver, Dark-type moves are the only moves that don't benefit from this boost. 19: Effort Values (EVs) The EV cap of 510 does not exist in Gen 2. It is possible to max out a Pokemon's EV for every stat. EVs are set to zero whenever a Pokemon is transferred to Gen VII or Pokebank. Instead of EV points, the game uses EV bytes. After each battle, the base stats of the defeated Pokemon are converted into bytes and added to each EV. Each stat's EV can have a maximum of 65535 EV bytes.
Example: Mew has a base stat of 100 for each stat. Defeating it would mean that each EV of your Pokemon would gain 100 EV bytes. Therefore, defeating 656 Mews would result in maximum EVs for each of your Pokemon's stats.
20. No Physical/Special-split Starting with Gen IV, the game decided for each attack separately whether it is special or physical. This is not the case in Gen 2. Whether an attack is physical or special depends on the type of the attack.
Physical attacks (which use attacker's Attack stat and defender's Defense stat to calculate damage): Normal, Fighting, Flying, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Poison, Steel
Special attacks (which use the attacker's Special Attack stat and the defender's Special Defense stat to calculate damage): Water, Grass, Fire, Ice, Electric, Psychic, Dragon, Dark
Bonus Ness_64 found a way to make encountering Chansey easier and to acquire Lucky Eggs:
For those with patience, here's something to help with level grinding after you get to Kanto. It's basically how to use the repel trick to get Lucky Eggs. You need:
The Thief TM. There are no pokémon who learn Thief naturally in Gen II, you need to use the TM. You get it at the Rocket Hideout.
A low-level compatible pokémon.
The Cut HM.
A few repels. Technically just 1 will do, but bring more just in case.
Once you get all of these, let's go: 1) Teach Thief to some low-level pokémon in your party and level it to 27-28, no more than that. It's strongly recommended to use it on a male pokémon. 2) Go to Kanto's Route 14 during the day (before 6PM). 3) Put the Thief pokémon as your lead. 4) Go to the tall grass on the north side of the route (you need Cut to get there) and use the repel. 5) Spin around in place with the D-Pad until you get an encounter. It may take some time, but it will happen. As long as you don't move, the repel will never wear off. 6) A wild Chansey appeared! Use Thief on her. 7) If she had a Lucky Egg, congratulations, defeat it and you'll keep it. Else, run away and repeat steps 5 and 6. Chansey carries a Lucky Egg 8% of the time, so this may take a while. I'm not sure if you keep the stolen item if you run away (I guess you do), but you definitely keep it if you defeat the Chansey. The problem is you might accidentally level up from defeating one (it doesn't help the Lucky Egg will boost her exp...). You can repeat this as many times as you want, but just 1 will take some time. If your Thief pokémon overlevels to 29, you won't be able to find Chansey this way anymore. In that case, take it to the Move Deleter in Blackthorn City, delete everything but Thief (to ensure the move won't get replaced) and breed another one using it as the father. You can also catch the Chansey and trade it for an Aerodactyl with a NPC on this route. This is the only way to get one in the games! As I said earlier, you can also do this in Crystal, though there are a few differences. They added Hoppip to the mix and Chansey got a lot rarer due to that (around 9%). I also think it had to be somewhere else and with a slightly lower lead level, but it's been a while since I last played, so I may edit this later.
